Post by MIROKU on Jul 7, 2014 17:16:20 GMT -6
Name: Cathair (In Scottish, the name Cathair means- From the broken mossy ground)
Age: 4 years
Breed: Australian cattle dog/Doberman
Cathair is rather quiet though he is perfectly fine with talking when others seek conversation. Despite his disability, it doesn't effect him all that much. True, Cathair does wish he could help Irene and Sterous and not be a burden. But he tries to look past that; though if others bring it up and rub it in his face, he will feel awful about it. One thing that will truly hurt Cathair's feelings is by making fun about his appearance. Due to the treatment his family gave him about the mutations he was born with, he is rather sensitive to when people are making fun of his appearance. While he does try to ignore it, he will still get upset and angered by it.
Cathair actually prefers the nicknames that Irene gave him, it gave him a reason to throw away the name of Demon that was wrongfully given to him by his own parents; though he took up one of them as a name. Irene and Sterous are like family to him, viewing them both with respect and friendship. Cathair hopes that nothing will drive the two siblings apart and they will be allowed to hold onto their friendship forever. Optimistic is another thing that describes Cathair, no matter how grim things have gotten he believes that some good will come of it. When Irene had gone berserk a little while after Cathair joined them, Cathair was afraid but he pushed his fear aside and begged for his friend to come back. During her berserk moments Cathair is afraid of her and fearful that he will lose her. Losing his friends is something that Cathair can't imagine. To those that become friends with him, he holds them close and treasures them.
Romance is something he thinks is impossible for him to ever gain. Though Cathair encourages his friends and others to pursue it. In fact, Cathair does his best to cheer Irene and Sterous up if something has them depressed or just unhappy. Course this can backfire and he is fine with it.
Mutations: Cathair's right front paw is larger than the left one and is oddly like a paw mixed with a human hand. It is thin but fully capable of grabbing things. A pair of small black bat wings coming out of his back with a the underside of the wings being dark brown. A line of horns going down half of his back exactly on his spine, the horns are bone white in color. They are rather long and sharp, though their are gaps in between them where they are growing out of his back. Right eye is ruby red and left eye is sapphire blue, both pupils though are slits like those of a cat's eye. On his left shoulder are three horns, however they are scorch black in color. Cathair has a rather bushy tuft of fur in between his ears, though the strands of fur end right above his eyes.
Since he can't walk, Cathair can't stand up anymore. Originally, Cathair height was half of a fully grown Doberman male, he is usually seen laying down or partially up since his front legs still work and he can push himself up halfway. The horns on his left shoulder are surrounded by a burn and thus the horns have a scorch black color to them along with the fur around it and half of his front left leg. His right ear is half gone, torn off by fangs. Cathair's left ear isn't much better, while most of it is still there, on the left side of the ear, there are tears in it that look like someone had bitten him but then took their claws to it. Giving it a very shredded appearance.
Cathair's fur has a wire texture to it, making it rough and coarse to the touch. Fur color consists of white, grey, and black. All these colors are mixed together yet you can still tell what colors there are. On his chest, there is a light brown paw print looking marking. The insides of his ears; what's left of them, share the same light brown color. His scent is a mix of basil and burnt fur.
Limited Traits: Non-Functional bat wings.
Born to a Stray couple, his parents were horrified at what one of their pups looked like. The last born of a litter of three and the runt as well. The other pups looked odd as well but nothing compared to what the runt looked like. So while the other two got good names he was given one that made him feel awful, Demon. At a young age, he asked why he was given that name and his mother replied in a cold voice 'Because you aren't my son, you're just a demon'. Hurt by his mother's words, 'Demon' found himself a outcast in his own family. His mother hardly cared about him just like his father and siblings, though Demon had managed to get milk when she was asleep.
'Demon' never interacted much with his brother and sister, they were too afraid of him and his mother made sure to keep them away from him. At a year old, his father took him by the ear and forced him to follow. Once away, Demon requested to know what was going on however what he got wasn't a answer. His father had attacked Demon, taking half of the youngster's right ear off and leaving him confused. Though the one year old tried to avoid his father's fangs. Despite all ill treatment, he didn't want to hurt his father. Demon knew that without his father then he wouldn't be here, nor would his siblings. So, he ran. Even with his father behind him, sometimes landing a attack Demon ran but never once did he return the blow.
Eventually his father had stopped following, Demon stopped running. Gasping for air and in pain from the wounds he received. Demon knew there was nothing for him if he headed back home, so he kept going after resting for a bit. Most of the wounds his father gave him scarred over, something Demon didn't care or take much notice of them. Trying to survive on his own the young male did struggle, his strange front paw made hunting odd and with difficulty, he managed. Two years passed with him being able to survive. A fire took the land one day and while trying to escape it, Demon had to jump run through the flames. Doing so he ended up tripping over his own paws and rolling on his left side for a few moments, resulting in the burn on his front leg and the horns on his shoulder.
Surviving the fire with burns, Demon carried on. It wasn't until three days later that a group of Strays found him and attacked him to try and get him to go back the way he came. Even though he told them he was passing through they wouldn't hear of it. Tearing up his left ear and one of these dogs ended up breaking part of his lower pack, thus paralyzing him. Being dragged off after the fight, Crippled could only lay where he was fur the night, trying hard to move from where he was but couldn't. The following day two sibling strays found him, clearly shocked to the appearance they saw. Before he could tell them his name, the female started to call him Crippled and Cathair. Ironically Cathair would become his new name and he was fine with being called Crippled as well, for it sounded much better than the name his parents gave him. The two siblings introduced themselves as Sterous and Irene. Cathair asked them if he could travel with them and after thinking it over the siblings allowed him to; even though they had to either carry or drag him.
A year gone by and during that time, Cathair saw Irene's bad side. Fear gripped him as well as uncertainty, however he knew that Irene was still there. Somehow he managed to get Irene to snap out of it since Sterous wasn't around to do it. The three eventually found their way to the Junkyard, a place they deemed safe and Cathair is often left behind there.
