Be nice! Treat other members with respect at all times. OOC Drama doesn't belong anywhere on this board.
Be active! You must make a bare minimum of one IC (in character) post a week. If you're busy or need to go on a hiatus let a staff member know via PM's and you'll be excused. If you fail to do either of those things, you'll get a strike. Three strikes, and your characters will be moved to the INACTIVE section and written out of any ongoing threads or plots. (We don't delete accounts or threads, ever.)
You must be 13+ to join this forum. If anyone is found to be under-age they will be banned.
Don't post mature/sexual content on this forum as it violates the Proboards TOS. If you need to refer to mating, remain vague and fade to black.
That being said, the forum's subject matter is dark so cursing is allowed to an extent. No slurs or hate-speech of any kind, however. Also, every other word you write shouldn't be a curse.
This RP is intentionally unrealistic but it's still from a dog's point of view. They aren't going to understand the world around them the same way a human would. Please keep that in mind.
Each IC post needs to be at least one paragraph. One paragraph is at least 100 words and should be four to five sentences. There's a built in word counter installed in the post-editor. If you want to post a lot more than that, feel free. If you want to post just around that amount, that's fine too. The quality of a post is more important than the length. On that note...
Use coherent grammar/spelling and write all IC posts in the third person.
Don't power-play. Since this is a forum where strange things happen this is especially important. You can only control your character, not anyone else's.
When fighting for example, you are allowed to write "Spot tried to bite Rover" not "Spot bit Rover". It's up to Rover's player whether or not he's fast enough to dodge the attack.
That being said, if a character has an obvious advantage over another, please take that into account. A Chihuahua is not going to be able to take out a German Shepherd, unless the Chihuahua is covered in poisonous spines, in which case it's highly debatable.
If a mutation is going to give your character any kind of advantage in hunting or fighting make it clear in their app.
Posting order is only mandatory in threads where five characters or more are interacting (such as during Pack meetings or full moon Gatherings). If you'd like to use a posting order voluntarily, discuss it with your partners in PM's or OOC brackets.
Don't abuse the Tag system. Earning Tags is really easy on purpose.
Feel free to use drawings, pixels or graphics (and anything else you can think of) in your signature but make sure it's not eye-burning, animated or board-stretching.
Don't try to steal art. You MUST source all art unless it belongs to you (drawn yourself, commissioned, gifted to you). If an artist has specified that they don't want they're art posted elsewhere, do not use it.
All art thieves will be thrown to the rotties. >8I Anyone caught stealing art will never be able to use art again on the site.

Regarding High Ranking Positions
Don't apply to be a high ranking Pack member (especially an Alpha) if you're not going to be active. If you get three strikes, your position will be given to someone else and you will not be allowed to apply for another high ranking position in the future.
When creating an Alpha or a Beta..., remember that they tend to be large, powerful dogs unless they have some other trait which convinces others to follow the, such as as being manipulative, a religious figure or a good orator. Traditionally, an Alpha or Beta can be challenged for their position at any time, so keep this in mind when creating one.
If your dog challenges an Alpha or Beta and wins, all the same rules apply. If your dog loses, they will usually be exiled from the Pack.
Small gangs of Strays are in comparison, very unorganized, but their Leaders must also be large and powerful, or particularly cunning to keep their position.
Regarding Mutations.
Mutations are optional. If you want your dog to look normal, that's totally fine.
Most "visual" mutations like increased size, horns, extra eyes, hair tufts, tails, teeth, limbs, weird colors ect. are never going to be Limited and are free for you to use first thing.
Still, make sure you check the Limited thread before you create a character just to be safe.

Anything that is not a dog is always going to be Limited. Dogs are very mistrustful towards other species, so please take that into account when saving up for one.
