the story
Every dog was blessed with a master to watch over them. We were innocent and life was endless play. But that was a long time ago...
In our luxury we became corrupted. Disgusted with us, our masters ascended to a new land, a clean land, with only a chosen few. They abandoned the rest in the ruins of the world they once ruled. The air and water here has turned foul, and so have we.
Now, horrible creatures we call rotties stumble in the streets where the masters once walked. They are no more than moving corpses. Harmless, but a reminder of how we have sinned and how far we must come before we rejoin the masters in paradise.
Amongst ourselves, we fight for territory and we fight for food. The Pack is our path to salvation. Watch over your Pack like the masters once watched over all of us and earn your place in the after life.

Tooth & Nail is a post apocalyptic dog rpg. It takes place many generations after a zombie apocalypse.
The rp is set near Salem, New Jersey in the town and nearby wildlife preserves. The dogs have no idea that the "masters" they remember are the same as the "rotties" they hate. The explosion of the Hope Creek nuclear power plant has poisoned the air and water with radiation, leading to severe genetic mutations in the feral dogs and other animals.
Tooth & Nail was inspired by the Warriors series by Erin Hunter and uses a lot of the same structure for the Packs. Other inspirations include the comic series, Beasts of Burden, Ginga Nagareboshi Gin/Densetsu Weed and the movies/books Felidae and Watership Down.

the features
With an emphasis on creative and weird character designs, Tooth & Nail seeks to be a fun, and relaxed rp with a dark atmosphere. We prefer quality over quantity while still appreciating good writing. You can post one paragraph or post a mini-novel, whatever makes the experience most enjoyable for you. 
A lot of forums these days have a "no drawings in signatures" policy which we completely reject. Art is heavily encouraged here. Show off your drawings as much as you want and feel awash in the glow of encouragement and stuff.
From the get go you have tons of options for designing a character, but we offer a "Tag" (as in dog tags) shop for buying Limited traits, species and adoptables. You get Tags by posting in RP threads, entering contests, participating in plots and making stuff for other members. People can also give you Tags just to be nice. That's cool too.

-Apply for characters and post in the OOC boards on the main account
-After you've been accepted, make a new account for your character with the same email you used before. Proboards allows you switch between accounts seamlessly with the widget at the righthand bottom of the screen. All of the character accounts are connected to that one email.
