Leander thumped his tail in satisfaction as the Seer finally began to eat. Skinny bastard. He sighed and settled down again, begining to groom his paws as Caelum talked on about herbs. At least this aspect didn't annoy Leander as much as the spiritual one. He could understand how different plants could have effects well enough (although not in any kind of detailed way), it was all that superstitious stuff that made him cross his eyes and sigh inwardly. Secretly he believed that dogkind would be much better off without all those extra things going bump in the night, but it definitley wasn't a popular opinion around these parts, so he rarely voiced it except to those he trusted dearly.
"Uh yeah, I guess. It must be such a conundrum and all that" he muttered, not really having anything to add to the basenji's weird rambling. "Anyway are you gonna be wanting any of these bones for something? Cause otherwise it's too much of a mess to keep in camp". Of course the smaller ones were good for chewing and keeping teeth clean, but the big ones would just get in the way and it was little problems like these that gave Betas stomache aches.

Caelum didn't offer a reply to Leander's contribution, already aware that the dog probably had no interest in what he was saying. Nonetheless, it never stopped him expressing the importance of his work: they would eventually find it interesting, whether Caelum had to shove it down their throats or not. With the last of the appealing meat eaten, and no desire to lower himself into stripping the bones completely, Caelum moved away from the boar and let his tongue slowly wipe away anything that had made its way onto his muzzle. "A couple won't hurt, but otherwise I have no interest."
While the bones probably wouldn't be useful for any medicinal purposes, they could always be grounded up to add to the soil. The only issue was that it was taxing to do so, seeing as the bones would only start to be useful if they had been pulvarised into the finest grains possible.

Damus couldn't help but listen to the conversation taking place between the seer and the beta, and his ears twitched with amusement as he glanced back and forth between the two.
Given, herbs were prized by all dogs who knew what to do with them, and to find them was somewhat difficult, but did they really need as much tending as a mother would give her newborn pups? Caelum seemed constantly worried. It was true that other dogs may sneak in and take them while they were not being guarded, but then there were other options if he wanted a good supply for coming years without much worry of theft.
"There are ways that you would allow you at least some peace of mind over herbs, you know." He muttered, slowly leaning onto one side. "Something I learned a long, long time ago... You might find it useful."

[Damus - Male - Age: 245 dog years [58 human years) - Fawnstalker - Proudfoot.]
"Perhaps we should find a way to have the herbs you need grow closer or in camp?" Magus asked as he approached the group.
Even though he was Alpha, the male hadn't gone on the hunting party. In fact he had been patrolling. Just himself yes but there was no harm in making sure nothing had crossed onto the territory that could cause the pack harm. Perhaps he should've been part of the hunting party...Magus was the Alpha and getting prey for the pack was just as important as making sure nothing dangerous appeared on the territory.
"My apologizes for butting in, I just thought I could offer a paw if anything was wrong." Magus explained as the tall dog took a seat on the ground.
The hunt had gone well, considering the remains of a boar were in camp and they were all gathered round it. Course the seer was eating at the moment and that was good, Caelum was just as busy as Leander and Magus was. With a task that was just as important as their's, keeping the pack safe. Caelum handled it from the medical and spiritual side while Leander and Magus handled it from a much different way.
Leander dipped his head respectfully towards the Alpha as he approached. He was happy to see Magus taking an interest even though he'd already eaten, but felt a twinge of annoyance as the husky cut Damus off rudely. He had been genuinely interested in what the old dog had been about to suggest. However, like many of the other things he felt, Leander didn't show his anger and instead got up to lick Magus's shoulder in a gesture of friendship. He liked to think they were friends, not just partners in running a horde of crazy deer-chasing mutts.
I guess it's his right to interrupt if he wants...
Leander knew Magus meant well and just wanted to help, but he was pretty certain if there was a way to magically get the plants to grow closer to camp, a friggin' nerd like Caelum would surely have found it already.

As old and experienced as Damus was, Caelum hardly doubted there was anything he knew about herbs that Caelum didn't know already. While it could be possible that Damus had somehow picked up something from a past Seer, he was sure that a sarcastic or mocking response about calming down was also another viable solution that could be presented. Either way, he didn't hold out much hope on Damus being able to solve his current worries, but voicing such a thought would only provide aggravation.
"I'd be honoured," he instead replied, keeping his tone careful.
It didn't seem he'd be able to know whatever Damus was saying any time soon, seeing as Magus finally showed up. It was probably a good thing Caelum had already finished, too worried about his own agenda and problems to fully appreciate the politics of eating. Margus seemed happy enough to hear Caelum out, which seemed to be a defining different between the Alpha and Beta.
"It's the same worry as always," he responded, attention turned towards Magus now. "Too little herbs, too little appreciation for why we need more."
